Mah Jongg (3 Part Lesson)

American Mahjong is all the rage and we’re here to get you in the game! Handsy Mahjong’s three-part beginners series will help get you firmly and confidently on your way to the next local open play session or at-home mahjong night with friends. Over the course of this three-part series, you’ll learn how to:

• Identify all 152 tiles;

• Decipher the language of the NMJL Card;

• Set up gameplay and deal tiles with ease;

• Understand the movements and early strategy of the Charleston;

• Identify potential winning hands;

• Move through gameplay; 

• Start thinking and playing defensively; and

• Feel the rhythm, flow, and the intoxicating click-clack momentum of real gameplay. 

By the end of Handsy’ Mahjong’s three-part beginners series, you’ll know how to start making order out of tile chaos and experience the thrill of watching a hand come together!
